KNOW YOUR OPPONENT

500 quid down in Jan and getting a horrid run of luck. Played for 1/2 hr this morning NL and have lost 2 buy ins already - think i shouldn't bother at the moment - I just get the cash in when in front and get outdrawn

However rant over - purpose of this post is to know you opponent.

I would not normally call a preflop 4* BB bet with K J offsuit - however I noted this gut raced preflop nearly every time with and two cards and then put in a pot size continuation bet. Hence I was pretty sure if I could hit a K or J high flop I would get paid off for my full stack which was low £140.

Everything went to plan till outdrawn again ............. However make sure you know your opponent- a 4* BB raise from another tight gut could be a sign of a definite AA or KK.
