As many of you know then I have a very small share in a number of horses and 2013 flat season has started pretty good for me so I thought I would give you a stable tour :) - all horses are via the absolutely awesome Middleham Park Racing Syndicate.
1) The Codger - I have owned him since he was a 2 year old and he has had numerous problems culminating in his knackers been removed before he ran as a 3 year old. He ran a pretty decent race when I was at Newcastle races ove a distance that was too short for him, however when he was upped to a mile he won pretty easy and I was on pretty big at 9-2 and attended in person at Redcar races. He has been off since on the sick but is expected to return mid June on what I feel is still an OK mark (raised 7lb for win).
2) Douglas Pasha - This is a horse that runs in low quality races. He was a pretty expensive 2 year old but I recently bought a share for next to nothing as he has done very little on the course. I was fortunate to get a win with him in one of the worst races ever at Southwell and expect him to run in claimers / sellers over the next few months with a possible run at Catterick on Fri night.
3) Stand My Ground - This looks a pretty high class recruit from France that I bought a share in earlier in the year. He has had 2 runs in the UK - one very promising and then a disspoainting run when upped in class to a group race. He travels over to Longchamp to contest in a listed race tomorrow and qualifies for a big French bonus if can pick up a listed race.
4) Sandiva - Last and certainly not least I bought a share in a horse called Sandiva pretty cheap despite having guineas winners in her breeding (Footstepsinthesand and Mark of Esteem). Anyway when unraced this was getting good reports and it was mega mega impressive when winning its debut in a fillies maiden at Notts. We have since turned down a very big bid and she is currently the top rated 2 year old filly this season. Exciting times ahead and she will be upped in class before running in a listed race at Naas in early June before hopefully a trip to Royal Ascot.
4 horses, 3 whom have already won is a nice start to the flat season.
